1st Mayfield Scout Group

The Scout Section is for young people, usually aged between 10½ and 14 years.

Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities.

Participation is the main aim of the scouting section, to give the scouts as many opportunities to try new things, develop skills and personal beliefs.

The scouts work towards the Challenge Badges and Activity Badges. Scouts take part in a programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and develops their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.

1st Mayfield Group Disco
A big thanks to all those who worked towards and attended the group disco in December.
A number of young people attended the disco giving a opportunity to find out more about scouting and the opportunities available.
Scouts Carol Service
We had a good turn out for the two carol services attended by the scouts this year.
The Ashdown District Carol Service saw a 200% larger turn out than the cubs or beavers! Plus two young leaders and two leaders from the scout section.
The Carols by Candle service we were invited to attend at Colkins Mill Church, we had a great turn out with a 71.5% turnout (or 5 of 7 Scouts)
