A small committee of Parents, Leaders, and ex-Scouts and Guides exists to provide back-up and moral support
for the leaders of the sections which consists of Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. The need for leaders is
an ongoing task in which the supporters play a major role.
The supporters administer and raise funds for the headquaters
hall. the Funds raised also provides training for the leaders who attend courses, camping equipment, and financial
help for any family that finds it difficult to provide uniforms or need help to meet the cost of a camp. most finances come
from the hire of the hall to other orginisations and local people who want a hall for a party, activity or meeting.
The
committee meets just four times a year. Two or three maintanance mornings are held when small jobs are tackled i.e. window
cleaning, washing paintwork and the odd painting e.t.c. The grass has to be cut on a regular basis and the hedge
cut twice a year.
New committee members are always welcome to ensure membership is not a hardship for the dedicated
few. Becoming a member and helping with administration and a bit of maintanance is a worthwhile contribution towards
a valued village facility and the young people it serves.
